This week will include many sorting and patterning, counting and measuring activities related to ice cream.
Of course, it includes a recipe for making ice cream.
1 cup whole milk
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Put in a ziplock bag. Put in larger ziplock bag filled with ice and ice cream salt. Shake.
Mrs. Waytashek will bring her ice cream maker as well so we can compare the 2 recipe.
As we wrap up the year with only a couple of days left, we will finish giving all the books a title. Thank you for this project. It has been so fun to watch the kids progress with their drawing and ability to think of ideas.
I will also finish assessing. You will receive these in your child's folder. If you have questions, please call me.
It is extremely important to spend a few minutes every day finding ways to review letters over the summer for the kids going into kindergarten. They are expected to know all their letters, upper and lower.
Create a shopping list and have your child help you find items looking for the first letter.
Name the letter or say the sound.
Watch for signs on the road and name letters.
Rhyme words while driving in the car.
Have your child read the paper after you are finished with a highlighter. Give them a letter to search for. "Look for all the lower case h"
Draw letters in the sand while at the beach.
Roll letters with playdough.
Trace the shape of a letter in shaving cream.
Name your dinner- "we are having noodles for dinner, what sound does noodle start with?"
Make it your goal to talk about letters for 2-5 minutes every day!
Blessings!
